Super BEE Shooters (Belly Blaster Parfaits)

Here is a little recipe I threw together purely by necessity. I was hungry and needed a quick healthy snack. They are actually quite good and now I crave them. Actually the idea sprung from a comment in Sarma Melngailis' book Raw Food Real World. (If you don’t own it, buy it! It is a wonderful book). She mentioned she didn’t like the taste of bee pollen mixed into her smoothies, so she would put some on top and eat with a spoon.

Ingredients:
  • Kefir (I prefer plain and organic, but there are many different brands and flavors that would make a delicious combination).
  • Bee Pollen (If you have never eaten bee pollen, you should first make sure you are not allergic and you should also know, it is an acquired taste and you may not initially like it).
  • Barlean’s Omega Swirl (flavors pictured: strawberry, pomegranate/blueberry, lemon)

Delicious, easy and so healthy! Surprisingly filling and packed with nutritional benefits, these shooters make a great addition to any meal or between meal snack.

Here are some of the health benefits packed into these pretty little parfaits....

BARLEAN’S OMEGA SWIRL:
Packed with essential Omega-3s, Omega Swirl was created to nutritionally support: •Heart Health
•Cholesterol Levels Already Within a Healthy Range
•Joint Mobility and Bone Density
•Energy and Endurance
•Skin, Hair and Nail Health

•Sexual and Hormonal Health

KEFIR - probiotic blend may help:
• Stimulate digestion.
• Lose weight.
• Enhance immune system.
• Alleviate lactose intolerance, IBS,
Crohn’s and colitis.

BEE POLLEN:

Bee pollen contains all the essential components of life. It is a superfood with too many benefits to mention.

My Dreams are Ready to Hatch...

My wish for all of you is that each day you wake up inspired about your life. If you don't wake up excited about the day to come, there may be changes you need to make! Follow your dreams, your wild side, your passions, your heart, things you love, for we only walk down this path once! The quote below inspired me to write this tip.

"People are not lazy. They simply have impotent goals -- that is, goals that do not inspire them." - Anthony Robbins

Peace, Love & Happiness,
Sandy

The above is a post from www.peacefuldaily.com that I saved some months ago.  I just found it again and as sychronicity would go -- I have just listened to Anthony Robbin's first session from the "Ultimate Edge"...searching for inspiration I am.  I know what I want (finally) -- now I just need the inspiration and follow through to make it happen.  I don't think I am lazy and I don't think my goals are uninspiring.  Sometimes a goal is so inspiring -- it feels out of reach (a dream).  How do you find the fortitude/discipline/inspiration to attain your dreams?....that it what I intend to find out!

Happy Hippie Days...

Look what I found at the thrift shop today --a retro hippie coffee maker for only $3.00!!  I'm not sure what I am going to do with it yet, but I'm sure it will look good next to my retro camper (when I get one) or it will come in handy for serving coffee on the the farm (when I get one :-P).  For now it is just sweet eye candy...

Leg Warmers for Furniture!

How cute are these?  I made these little leg warmers for my wicker stool.  I was inspired by an article in the February 2012 issue of Country Living.  Just the right project to welcome the coming Autumn season.  Makes me anticipate fireside lounging and hot chocolate.

I crocheted my slip-ons, but the ones in the Country Living magazine are knitted.

Both the pattern and finished product are available from  biscuitscout.etsy.com.  Her hand knitted cream aran armchair slip cover is on my wishlist! Amazing....

My Ideal Scene...

I am reading The Millionaire Course, "A Visionary Plan for Creating the Life of Your Dreams" and Marc Allen says you should write a one page description of your "Ideal Scene" (imagine your life at it's best!).   This picture is a reminder to me...

My Ideal Scene:  I live on a small working farm "sanctuary" where animals are not killed (not sure what will be farmed yet; pumpkins, christmas trees, maple syrup, goat cheese, wool, lavender, herbs or local produce?).  Our farm life will be very self-sustaining and we will make our living by farming, blogging, offering classes (art retreats, cooking, re-purposing, etc.).  Our life is our work...we promote green living, family life and a reverence for all life.  We have an onsite store (the RE-Store) that houses our wares and latest up-cycled creations.

See my additional pages if you are interested in my specific goals and how I plan to attain them.  I will also be posting regularly on the successes and any set backs we may incur.

Join me on the Journey!.....

Artist's Date: "Drink and Dabble"

Created this Valentine art at a "Drink and Dabble" with my sister.  It was great to take a few hours and actually focus on my art and complete a project.  Although I am already revising it.
Stay Tuned....
